EDINBURGH
Edinburgh is Scotland's capital; a city filled with history, culture, engaging attractions and beautiful architecture. Spend your time exploring its cobbled streets, hidden closes, world-class festivals and lively food and drink scene. Find out what makes Edinburgh so special, from its status as a UNESCO City of Literature and UNESCO World Heritage Site, to being named one of Time Out's top cities in the world.
*This picture was taken from my hotel room in the Hilton, which was conveniently located & a great home base. Edinburgh is hands down one of favorite cities. I was all prepared to go apartment hunting just after my 2nd day! I spent a total of 10 days, taking my time. I walked all over that city, and still wasn't able to see it all. I will definitely be returning at some point. Edinburgh is a must visit city, bring comfortable walking shoes, walking is the best way to see "off the beaten path" finds!

Located on Culloden Moor near Inverness, Scotland, is the site of the last pitched battle fought on British soil, the Battle of Culloden, which took place on April 16, 1746, and resulted in a decisive victory for the government forces against the Jacobite army. |
LITTLE FREE LIBRARY |
"Book huts," also known as Little Free Libraries, are free book exchanges where anyone can take a book or share a book. You can find them in various shapes and sizes.
(This particular free library was literally in the middle of nowhere Scotland. I was zig zapping across the country and happened upon this gem!)

THE HELIX KELPIES
The Kelpies is the largest equine sculpture in the world. (That’s me jumping for joy) The two steel horse heads rear up by the Forth and Clyde Canal near Falkirk in central Scotland. It opened to the public in April 2014. Sculptor Andy Scott was inspired both by the myth of the kelpies and by the Clydesdale horses that once powered Scottish industry by pulling barges transporting goods and materials for manufacture.
